Today I noticed my passenger side window moving just a tad slower than usual. I tested both driver & passenger speeds and the driver's side did close faster (tested in case I was "seeing" things that weren't there). Is it safe to conclude that it needs a window regulator replacement? Or could it be something else?
Mine was a little slow and then it would lock in the down position. I took a chance on it being the regulator. Ordered one from one of the vendors here and put it in myself. Wasn't much to it. There is a good youtube video of the diy. Hope this helps, good luck

When yours would lock in the down position, was it permanent or would it eventually go back? (before you replaced regulator)
Just trying to gauge how soon I should replace the regulator. Mine is a daily driver.
If it is not making any crunching sounds and goes up and down in a linear fashion would just leave it alone. What appears to be typical is the plastic pieces breaking up on the regulator jamming up the travel....I replaced my left, not too bad.
My right seemed a little slower I tried spraying a little lube not sure if that helped or just some regular exercise helped.
As pmr2000 said, mine did start making crunching sounds. It would come back up with a little coaxing. Moving it up down in short strokes. I put mine in also. Not a bad job to do.
