OK all,
I am confused. I have an 04Z16 and am ok with that one for now as it sits with OE Goodyears at 7500 miles.
I just picked up an 03Z and it needs tires.
I am looking at Conti DWs in 275/40/17 and 295/35 18 (stock wheels). Any issues with anyone who has used this combo?
This combo appears to be best/closest stagger for height compared to OEM fitment.
Only other option close are Nitto 05s but I have an issue putting cheap asian tires on the car.
Will the contis work? I plan on driving this car more for trips and DD.
Thanks!

My son and I both have the DWs on our Z16s in the 275-295 stagger. The tires work great, good grip, quiet, no issues. The Nittos are great tires, but they are a soft compound and will not last as long and they can be iffy in the wet.
I'm now thinking I should get the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires even though they're really expensive. They also have the stock sizes. Those should be better than the Nitto NT-05s, right?

"Better" for what? The NT-05s are amazingly good performers regardless of price. If you want a wet/cold weather tire, or a hard/durable tire...look elsewhere.

Better for cornering, launching...Just overall grip/performance.
The PSS is a newer design and compound and, while awesome, doesn't fit stock sizing.
If you are running 295/35-18 in the rear, I hope you don't need a replacement soon. I've been trying to get them for months and all they can tell me is they don't know when they may be available, if ever. I recently got the Conti DW's on my car and I am extremely pleased with them. Quiet, improved ride and steering response is good.
