hmm, don't know about the HP rating feature. It would all depend on some assumptions like accurate weight input and launch performance. It is WAY more accurate for 1/4 mile times and 0-60 as those are not derived values but direct measurements.
I'll ask DDSLT5 to see if he can try it out as he just got his car dynoed on Saturday, has previously gotten his car weighed, and has one of these gizmos. I'll ask him to post here if he can get out there and try it.

Re: G-tech? (edv2122)
I have one. I never tried the HP readings, but I have tried the 1/4 mile readings while making passes at the track. It is consistent, but it is always off what you will get at a real track. You have to make sure you carefully mount it on the windshield in the proper position every time. If you mount it differently the readings will be worthless.
I have an ap-22 performance meter and it requires you to put in the weight of the car with you in it, your drag coefficent and your rolling resistance which it tells you how to calculate. That way it gives you a more accurate reading of your rwhp. I have never tried it out yet because I'm not sure of the drag coefficent or the rolling resistance but i doubt it is highly accurate any way since it measures your acceleration over time to compute your hp and if you spin or just dont hit it enough you would get an inaccurate number. If you want to know your rwhp, put it on a dyno.

What specifically did you observe in terms of discrepency with track timing? I heard it always reads high on the speed compared to the strip which makes sense since the G-tech measures your speed at the EXACT 1/4 mile mark whereas the timing lights measure your speed over a small stretch of track near the end of your run...What did you observe in terms of timing discrepencies? Any significant differences?

Re: G-tech? (Bertrand)
I never tried it with a Z06, but I used it with my previous Vette. This was a stock 85 L98.
Englishtown usually reported about 14.0 @ 99.8 MPH. GTech Pro usually reported about 13.8 @ 105 MPH. The differences between ETown and the GTech were fairly consistent.
I used extreme care when mounting the GTech. You have to make sure it is PERFECTLY straight and you have to level it to 0 Gs. This is not always easy to do. If the unit is not perfectly straight at 0 Gs the accuracy will be off.
