Hey guys,. So headlights go up and come down fine. But when they come down the passenger motor keeps spinning for like 10 seconds and its really loud almost a knocking. I don't see anything hindering it and it is going up all the way and also seating properly. Is it the stripped gear fix I keep reading about? TIA

Mayne--mine did exact thing--gear is good--so corvette mechanic said could be in the bcm--i let it go no biggy to me---only happens when you turn off lights--
Headlight gear is stripped. GM used plastic gears and the teeth wear down. You will need to replace the gear and I would use the brass replacement gear.
There are multiple tutorials on how to fix this problem and many many experts on how to do it. I did mine with no problem. Since only half the gear is done, you can rotate the gear 180 degrees out and use the undamaged portion if you are really on a budget. I went for the brass gear set. It was easy. Took a few hours including drying time for the gear case glue. Follow YouTube or step by step tutorial and you won't have any problems. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...orialized.html
