Default 03 owners question (updated everyone should read this)

I have a 03 Z. My Z only has the Anniv. badging on the front. Do you guys only have it on the front or do you have the badging on the rear also?

Guys I think I got jipped on the rear badging. What should I do? Is mine unique or is it a reject? Why do I only have the Anniv. badging on the front? It is Mll. Yellow, does the color matter with the badging?

I have an 03 ordered and I assumed it would be front and back. It just seems to make sense.
I wait as well for some owners now to answer the question.

The badges should be on the front and the rear(trunk).

They should be, but are they?

There is an 03 silver Z at the chevy dealer by my house. If i get a chance i will swing by and take a look. I stopped by once and saw the badge on the front and it is silver looking and said 50th in between the flags right. The dealer was closed so i could not see the back.

I just purchased an 03 last Saturday and the badges should be on both the front and back. On six of the seven I looked at the trunk badge had the outside silver tips damaged. Looks like it is pealing off. I had them order me a new one to replace the damaged one. Only because I looked at all the 03 do I know the badges should be on both front and back.

You guys won't believe this. I called the dealership to take care of this. They told me that they would not honor my warranty on this. I called GM and spoke with a manager in the customer service dept. and she said that I would have to pay for the part and the service . You have got to be kidding me. I paid good money for the Anniv. car and they won't even honor my warranty and put on there what is sapose to be there. If this matter is not resolved this will be the last GM product I will ever buy. I had problems with my 2001 vert and now my Z which is only 6 weeks old. This is a hell of a way for GM to treat the customers on their flagship vehicle. Bad bussiness!I had to call the BBB and start a case file for this. What is going on with GM? It is a simple thing. Give me the emblem I paid for and and do it under warranty.3/36 is bumper to bumper and the embelm does fall in between that doesn't it.
I have not had one good experience with GM thus far with two of their most expensive vehicles.

Any suggestion? I need help. This will be the last GM product I will buy! :mad :cuss

The car just came off the truck and still had the wrapping on it. It was not in my sight the whole time and someone could have taken it off and not put the right one back, I don't know. At the time the 03's were just coming in and I had no idea there was sapose to be the anniv. emblem on the back. I would raise hell with the saleing dealership but I almost had to take them to court over a fraudulent credit card charge that was placed to try and get an addtional $500 out of me. As you can see it has been a nighmare since my first purchase of my previous C5. I have not one good thing to say about GM. I have lodged complaints with the BBB on three seperate occasions involving one of my two vettes. This is truly unbelievable! I was going to go with a BMW M3 before the Z06 but decided to give GM another chance. I guess I made a bad decision. OK the Z06 is faster then the M3 but this aggravation is not worth it to me. I spent good money (paid cash) for this car and being treated very very poorly from every angle. Their customer service is horrible!

You have every reason to be upset, but don't kill yourself over it. Maybe you should try another dealer for service.

If worse comes to worse I would just order a new rear badge from Fichtner and put it on the car myself. The badge will probably end up costing you less than a full tank of gas.

When I took delivery of my car the stock rear plate frame was missing. I was pissed, but I told myself that if I could not get it from the dealer I would just buy it and be done with it. Luckily the dealer sent me one in the mail after I complained to them.

I agree the situation totally sucks, but just try to deal with it and enjoy the great car.

OK. So I filed a complaint with the BBB autoline. GM calls me back and said that if I took the car back to the saleing dealership that they would TAKE A LOOK AT IT. OK so I guess they think that I pulled off the annviversary badge and put a standard one on myself. Fine, if that is what they think they can look at it all day. But here is the problem they want me to take the car back to the saleing dealership which again I lodged a complaint with GM and my local BBB. Does anyone think after I made those complaints that this dealership is going to go out of theier way to help me out. NO. Here is the kicker, the person they want to look at the car is the saleman that I specifically included in my complaints. This is crazy! I will not do bussiness with this dealership. I am willing to take the car anywhere in my area to have them look at the car if that is what they want. It is beyond me why NO other dealerships can perform this task of looking at the car, ordering the part and putting the damm thing on. In GM's eyes is their only one competent dealership in my area? Or are they forcing me there because they know I will not go there so they can just avoid this thing all together. 50K for a car and i can't get anyone to give me waht a paid for, a 50th z06 with badging on the front a rear. GM you guys really care about who is buying one of your most expensive products, YA RIGHT! I guess they feel that ther competition is not that strong, well at this point i would take a vehicle with 200 less HP if I knew I would be treated like this after spending so much for this car. :mad

I was quoted $53.00 for each badge

You are definitely supposed to have badges front & rear. Ours does and they are perfect. I would call or email Bob Breeding. He is GM's Corvette Customer Liasion. Phone is (270) 745-8181. Email is Bob.Breeding@gm.com

You are getting really worked up over this. It also sounds like you are pissing people off at the dealership. That is probably not the best way to go about this. I agree the situation sucks big time, but it is fixable. $53 for the rear badge sounds like an outrageous markup from a local dealer.

I just checked GMPARTSDIRECT.COM and they list the 2002 front bumper emblem for $18, and the rear bumper emblem for $11. They don’t have any 2003 parts on their site, but I would be shocked to find out that the rear 2003 emblem really goes for $53. Call Bob at Fichtner, buy an emblem, slap it on, and save yourself some heartache. If you really are that pissed at GM trade the car in on a M3.

Right now from my office I am watching the people taking part in the WTC ceremonies. Those people have real problems.

I am not trying to disrespect you. I am just trying to provide what I think is a fairly easy solution. My car was also missing a part when I got it. :blueangel:

rbartick,
You are so right its not that big of a deal in the scheme of things. I live in NJ and know people who lost loveones in 9/11 in NY. I just expected more from the dealerships to GM. I hope though I have pissed off the people at the dealership as the have given me much grief not only over the embelm but other incidents as well. In the end I will get the embelm and put it on myself but it sucks that I have to do that.

You are learning something that many of us have already related on the forum. While you bought a $50,000 car, you bought it from a CHEVROLET dealership. They sell $12,000 Cavaliers (I really don't know what a Cav costs, humor me) right beside your car. The dealerships are not especially equipped to deal with us - if you are buying a high-end BMW or a Porsche, you will be treated differently.

Basically, you are dealing with Chevy dealers and it boils down to this - there will be some good ones and some crappy ones...

Sorry about your experience.

I'd take the car to another dealership and ask them to swap it out for you. Your warranty is good at ALL of the GM dealerships across the nation as far as I understand.

I would find another dealer and take it to them. In my case, I didn't order my 03 from my local dealer because none of them knew what the difference was between a coupe and a Z06. :smash: So instead I just ordered from Monica Dean at Maxie Price. Great service and very professional. Thanks Monica

The probelm is now being resolved. I have an embelm on the way. I have to put it on myself but at this point it is OK with me. As long as I get the emblem and I do not have to deal with these crappy dealers. I agree totally with the above stated. Expensive car being sold at a low end brand dealer. Well alls I can say is live and learn.

How do you like the car? I also am getting a new emblem sent to me as the original was damaged. But the car is awesome. This will pass...and so will the car!

I love my Z. I just hate the customer service I have encountered. My theory, as bizarre as it may sound, is stand by your product and the customers who buy them.
