C5 does not start after heavy rain
I just had the Vette serviced at the dealership (50k miles) and also had a slew of maintenance work done..I received the car last Friday and have been using the Vette everyday (taking it to work etc..) yesterday morning I went to start the car up and realized that the car was totally dead (door locks did not work, alarm etc..)
I then popped the hood open and I took a wrench to attempt to tighten red post on the battery, once I did that the lights and started working and I heard the mechanics starting to turn on... now I've had this issue before which is why I went right to the battery posts.. but the car would not turn.. it would then start then turn off.. (the CPU was reading, low fuel, reduced engine power etc..) now I looked at the AMP meter on the dashboard and it was reading below 13. I had to go to work so I left the car home, my dad then tried to start it about 2 hours later and the car started right up.. no issues at all everything is fine.
Not sure what to do here, I had the dealership look at the battery and they said its fine.. I've been having this issue on and off for a while now.. what I am noticing though this tends to happen more when it rains heavy the night before.
I called the dealership up and they want me to take the car back to them on Monday.. after having an extensive amount of work done I wanted to see if you guys had any opinions or things I should check before doing that.
Any help is appreciated!!
Thanks in advance!
2. You cannot rely on the DIC for Voltage readings of your battery. You must use a multi-meter to read it properly. It's a possibility your battery drained more than the electronics of the Corvette liked and that's why you couldn't start it.
3. Is your passenger side carpet wet? This would be an indication you have a water leak and the BCM got wet, potentially causing your issues among many other things.
4. You didn't mention what the dealership did to your car. What service work was performed? This could be beneficial for a diagnosis.
5. Pull your codes and post them here. The codes could be the key to your issue.
Make sure your battery and starter connections are NOT loose or corroded... Then CLEAR all the CODES... drive the car a little while and the PULL the Codes BEFORE you kill the car and post them here

Clean your terminals. A little wire wheel on a Dremel works great for this. Then tighten to specs. If you have a good battery, charge it to 100% and begin fresh. You might be a good candidate for a battery tender.
