Last night I filled up my tank from about one half full and tried to squeeze in that last $.15 to round it off and spilled out the overflow. I left the station with a full tank. Three minutes later I get an alarm sound and look at my d.i.c. and have a message that says "Low Fuel" I then look at my fuel gauge and it shows completely empty. Then I get a check gages light. Five minutes later I get home and the tank now shows 5/8 full and the check gages light goes out. I check for any codes that have been set and there are none. This morning I go out to investigate further and the tank shows completely full and everything appears as normal. I will add that I have a stock "03" What is going on? and what should I be look at?
I know it's been said many times before. But, my local AutoZone has Techron 2 for 1 right now, I'd stock up.
I put a bottle in every other tank, and that helps, otherwise my gas guage will go to zero.
One thing I've learned to do, is keep track of the miles, and fill up every 200 miles or so, that's about how long a tank lasts when I'm pushing it on back roads.
