I am sure this has been discussed . I have a little wooble in steering wheel at cruising speeds. Just the wheel, the car seems fine. Tires seem to be wearing fine proper air pressure. Going to go on our first trip to Gatlinburg. Would like to fix it first.
Like he said. And when you balance them be sure to look for a bump or knot where the tire might be coming apart. My father in law drove halfway across the US with a shaking steering wheel. Was ready to junk the car until I jacked it up and showed him the goose egg on one front tire. One new tire later and the car drove perfect.
Ok I'll have balance checked. Tires only have around 6000 miles on them.
I've left tire places with BRAND new tires on ... turned around and went right back to have them REBALANCED...
Bent rim is a possibility... make sure they look them over good.
.. You might also want to check the condition of tie rod ends, rack and pinion unit, and alignment. A shaking steering wheel can be related to a number of different components that are worn. Good luck !!...
