On down the road I was looking into getting a full exhaust, anyway I have a stock LS1 just with a Corsa extreme axel back exhaust, I was looking at the kooks long tube headers 1 3/4" with kook X pipe, what are the pros and cons of swapping out the stock headers and H pipe with this setup? Should I do it or leave my car alone. Advice please
I have that setup exactly Corsa Extremes with Kooks Long Lubes, but mine are 1"7/8 with kooks catted pipe. With a tune you will be a very happy with the setup. It wakes up the car and the Corsa really comes alive. However, under normal driving its very well mannered get into the load pedal and it screams fun. Did i mention they look incredible...
I very particular but My only issue was a slight knock from cross over pipe hitting heat shield when i would hit a decent bump the right way...with some adjustments its pretty much gone...but its not factory so these type of issues are expected. But its a great set up.

A set of LT headers, whether it be Kooks or another quality brand, will wake the car up and sound great. As mentioned, a tune would be a good thing to get also to really get all the potential from the mod.
I have Kooks 1 3/4" LT headers, Kooks high flow cats, Kooks X-Pipe and Corsa Xtreme along with a Vararam CAI and a Dyno tune. Best money I have spent. Really woke up the LS1.

I bet it sounds great, I am also thinking of getting the Vararam intake also, my plan is to get it all done buy all the parts and get em installed with a good tune.
Beer is a great way to take the edge off of such a stressful job... most guys will help you for a 6 pack... but if you want your LT and H pipe installed it might take a 12 pack
You'll need to shop around for someone that will do it... then for someone that will do it RIGHT... then ask about price... and it's going to vary from, BEND over to Hey, that ain't so bad...
I'd EXPECT to pay at least $500...

My shop charged me 5 hours labor for the headers, high flow cats and x-pipe install and then hooking it all up to the Corsa. The Vararam install was 2.5 hours labor. Labor rate was $100/Hr .
Anyone here running LT and axleback on a vert? I'm searching for those 50 more hp, and everyone says LT, CAI and tune. Problem is that I think the sound is on the limit already with my Magnaflow axleback system. Will it be unbearable with the long tubes? And - do I get a problem on the trackday decibel test?

I agree with all of the above. I have the exact same exhaust system on my Z and get nothing but compliemts. Great combo!
I installed Kooks LT's, Catted X, Vararam, and an ECS Mail Order Tune about two months ago. All the parts together really woke up the car. I recommend the Kooks highly, the install went very smooth, the quality is top notch, fitment is perfect. The headers literally slipped in from underneath and with no drama.

my rate was 120 an hour and billed 6 hours for headers x pipe also into a corsa with the haltech killer bee mf108 and a tune.
I highly recommend the LT headers also. Mine is loud with a b&b bullet cat back. Get the cats too otherwise it’s so loud you can’t hear yourself talk. Here is a little real world performance. When I was all stock, fastest I went on the drag strip was 13.3 at 103mph. LG headers, x-pipe, cats, bullet exhaust, VR intake is 12.6 at 109mph. Install was done in 2005, I still have the car, reliability is fine. And I have an A4 with 3.15 gears.
OP, do you have visual emissions inspection there, if so long tube headers will not pass, as they relocate the position of OEM cats, which is illegal technically.
