Hinson Shifter
Father's day this year 2 of my kids got together and bought me a Hinson shifter. Kids just do the darnest things !! 
I have seen a few posts on the install and I could add anything to that so I'll skip the details.
Shifter install is straight forward and easy enough. This shifter is way different than anything else I have every used, on any car.
I honestly thought it was broken as the lateral movement is barely detectable. When out of gear there is barely any movement and when first installed i though it was broken. Initially i could not use the included ball **** because I just couldn't feel the gear changes.
When driving the only thing that comes to mind is WOW!! The H pattern for 1-4 gears is absolutely amazing. I can't believe how well this thing shifts. its very precise, very mechanical. Easy to shift but i wouldn't cal if fluid. More like flipping a switch. I found most movement to be in the wrist and did not need to move my entire arm/hand when quick shifting.
I don't think i would like this on a DD. As nice as the 1-4 shifts are, getting into 5th and reverse are difficult. There is a real adjustment period for this though...it is different (at least for me anyway).
This is probably the perfect racing shifter, honestly getting through the gears so fast and so sure is really incredible. I had a B&M shifter and liked it, much better than stock. do not see myself going back to it.

I have the MGW and think its a really nice upgrade and then I changed my fluid yesterday to Royal Purple and now its even better if thats possible. What your describing with the Hinson is exactly how the MGW feels. Im sure ist the same type and a huge upgrade from stock. Congrats on the install. Try doing a fluid change to Royal Purple Synchromax on the trans. I would like to hear others feedback.
