Happens a lot on my 04 Vert. Could be fuse #17 in passenger foot well fuse box but probably not. Could be the wire to the button has failed but probably not.
I would open and then close the trunk lid and then try it again. Trunk lid MUST be closed in order for the tonneau cover to be raised. Works for me.
Do you hear the chimes indicating the trunk is open (or electronics thinks it is)?
From the manual:
While attempting to raise the
lid, if the lid does not release and you hear
three chimes, check to make sure the trunk lid is
closed. Also, the lid will not release if the alarm
is turned on or the trunk lid is open.
After pressing the release button, the driver's and
passenger's door glass should retract to the
full-down position.
If all that is ok, I'd go to the fuse, then bypass the button to see if it's the problem. I assume you know you can manually open the lid by pulling the cable just behind the waterfall?
press yellow button to start process and nothing happens, possibilities??? thanks
Mine did this a week ago. I think it was a loose connection or I have a cracked wire inside the insulation on the leads to the button. . Opened it manually (using the cable) a couple times, drove a few miles, tried it again and working fine since.
