So I'm going to end up replacing the top on my 2000 C5, and I need some good recommendations.....
Anyone have a brand/manufacturer that you'd personally endorse?
There are quite a few brands online, but I've never purchased one before. I want a nice one, as the car is going up for sale sometime between now and the fall.....so I want it to be a good one.
Anyone have a recommendation? Something you'd put your reputation behind?

Let me know; I'm looking -
Thanks!
I had mine replaced last year, its not so much the brand but the installer.
i was lucky to get a good top (Robbins) and a great installer. $1200
I too have the Twillfast with a defroster glass window. The price won't help you as I made the purchase on 2/2/2011. I also went from the light oak to black and I think it is a much improved look for my white C5.My top has only been up once for a 1/2 hour right after I bought it. You can shop around the convertible shops to find a jnstaller as poster #7 said get a pro to do this job, you won't be sorry. I purchased my top from a forum vender EZ Softops. These tops are high quality and are used on cars such as Mercedes,Ferraris and even Lamboginis.Best of luck to you

Not sure about the RPC. Located my receipt, shows Robbins part #R2058C-TW-BKB, bought back in 2011. Still looks like new. Man, how time flies.
The reason i ask is they show a 98-2001 style material and a 2002-2004 material. I assume 02-04 (Twill fast RPC option) is a nicer material...
"• Factory Cloth material for 98 to 01 models is Haartz Twillfast II Cloth, for 02 to 04 models is Haartz Twillfast RPC Cloth. Sailcloth GM Br. White is the original Vinyl material for 98 thru 04 models. We also offer Haartz Stayfast material top."

After having gone through this a couple years ago and having bought a top from a "reputable vendor", I am positively certain I would go grab a top on Ebay and it would be the exact same top and possibly with greater customer service than the one I got.
I installed mine myself. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I'm pretty sure my first try was as nice as most people's 100th try. I have a thread on the subject somewhere.
If they make a top as said above that has extra padding or a layer inside for the 01-04, I'd like to see one of them. Mine is fine for noise, but I do kinda wish there was a thin layer of foam to make it look just a little fuller when up. It's probably meaningless. Fact is, mine has multiple layers to the top so for all I know I might have what they're talking about.
Before beginning the install, MAKE SURE you plug in the rear defogger and be certain every element works. Mine is missing the very lowest one and the vendor I bought from had no interest in hearing about it. I sorta understand their position, but I was a little disappointed that I was the guy who got the bogus window. It's not a big deal to me, it's almost unnoticeable as it's the last one down at the bottom. But I like everything on my car to work perfectly.
