Just purchased a near mint lexan roof for a measly 350 bucks! Craigslist can be amazing sometimes. Has one small crack on the passenger side but other than that it's near mint
I know right? My roof was a member of the flying roof club. But prior to that it was peeling and had the superficial cracks throughout the entire panel. I figure if this roof panel lasts at least a year than I get it rebuilt it paid for itself.

Why don't you use it?! It makes the car feel so much more airy. I don't like the paint matched roofs. I wouldn't say stupid though. Only thing is unless the refurb companies stop refurbing them (won't happen, they still do c4s etc) it probably won't gain any value.

I have heard the car is louder and hotter, that's why I haven't even tried it ????? (now that is stupid)
I've posted this a time or two in the past but I found a local craigslist ad with a near perfect top with the same small crack in the passenger side and they advertised it for $100!!! I called and went by and the lady was leaving that very day, moving to California and when I knocked on her door, she answered and I introduced myself. Before I could mention much more than my name and that I was the one who had called about the top earlier, she said if I'd take it right now I could have it for $50 !!!!!!! I said SOLD! Still have that top on the car today. It looks like a twin brother to your top. I still break my arm patting myself on the back on that one. I was just lucky. A super motivated seller and I was in the right place at the right time. We're all supposed to find an acorn once in a while....

Well it's nice to know that crack shouldn't go anywhere. Hopefully my sub doesn't help it along. The guy originally wanted 600 for it but I'm a master haggler, especially when people don't know what they have hahaha.

I'm not the best comparison since I have my tunnel heat insulated, ceramic 1/4 tunnel plate and the rest of the entire car dynamated but honestly today even in 110* desert heat my ac wasn't overwhelmed. Not saying it'll cool the car down to 60* and freeze you out but it's definitely comfortable. Note though that I also have an underdrive so that doesn't help matters any. Once it cools off a little you should give it a try, you might like it.

Pounder, having only owned a Z and now this one with only the lean roof, I can't honestly assess the sound situation other than this one is quieter on the highway. I also have the padded insert from Mamotors, which I took out a week ago for about 4 hours, then when the temp hit 80, it went back in!
However, I'm very fond of contrasting roofs, so I would have no interest in the other roof anyway.

I live in Florida where it's hot in the summer, but I have the same silver car (a 2000) and my clear top is on from Oct to May, so try it, maybe you'll like it.
