Many of you probably saw my thread about what I could afford for $25k. Well I ended up finding a 2002 Z06 for what I thought was a fair price. She has all of 10k miles. I don't have pictures of my own yet as I was lucky to get it straight into the garage before the rain came after it arrived. I will get some when the weather permits. But the link to the dealer's ad is below. As far as plans for the car go it is going in Wednesday to have PAC 1218 valve springs put on it. It has had brand new factory spec Goodyears put on it so that is good! I plan on keeping the car stock other than ordering the LMC5 kit, a cover and a skip shift eliminator.
Exotic color for an exotic car. No need to blend in with the rest
I got my 02 two years ago with 26k, one owner and not even tinted windows. Zip tie K&N with straight, over the axle, borlas and tune. Car made 384 and sounds incredible. Dont mess with valve springs, they are fine. If you want to drive it hard, just wait until oil temp gets up to 150 and you are good to go. Lowering on stock bolts put the finishing touches on car. Never selling it
A set of valve springs are a whole lot cheaper than the alternative. 100% replace them. A good friend of mine didn't worry about valve springs and well it cost him a motor...he wound up with a 402 though
Thanks everyone! It really is a brand new car down to the smell of the interior. I am trying to be good and haven't driven it other than off the delivery truck and into the garage. Once the valve springs are changed Wednesday I will finally feel comfortable letting her loose
Thanks everyone! One week in I have done the following so far:
-LMC5 CLB (Only after it reared its ugly head and stranded the car at the shop )
-Flannel indoor car cover
-Replaced the ticking time bombs below with PAC 1218 springs
I put an mgw shifter in the 02 Camaro I was road racing previous to my current 04 Z. I picked up a used C6 shifter for the Z and I like it more then the mgw and a fair amount cheaper to boot.
