I'm trying to ID my 1998 coupe as to having the Z51 Performance Package. I've read many accounts of this here on the Forum where it is said that the Z51 has drilled and slotted rotors and the Z51 code can be found on the glove box door. My car has the Z51 code listed with all the other codes but the sticker is located on one of the storage compartment covers in the rear of the car not on the glove box door. The car also has solid rotors not drilled or slotted. I do not have the window sticker. It would be helpful to know this when ordering parts.
Earlier car had the sticker in the back, not sure when it was moved to the glove box, but my 2000 has it there. C5 Z51 cars did not come with slotted rotors. Z51 included higher rate springs, better shocks, a power steering cooler and bigger sway bars.

No C5 came with drilled and slotted rotors from the factory. As for the RPO decal, I do believe the '98s had them under one of the compartment covers in the back. If yours says Z51, then that's what is on your car.
If I remember you have the F-45 select ride, OR the FE1 base or the Z51 but NOT both...so if you don't have the select ride button on the console it's either the FE1 or Z51...
The car has Z51 listed on its codes sticker and it looks like it has a separate cooler of some kind (long and narrow). I got to go with its a 1998 Z51 Coupe.
Now I just hope that the Brake Rotor Hub Covers I just bought from Ecklers (Z51, black) fit the car. Are the Z51 rotors of that year different than the standard rotors? Hmm.
