Shoes make a difference. Took my C5 to a wedding once wearing leather bottom dress shoes. Had to be real careful.
I sometimes use the quarter car wash to rinse off the dust from my road. One time my foot slipped off the clutch and and dam near slammed into the vacuum isle. I have since made a rubber extension for the clutch because I like the seat all the way back for most driving !!!!

How about some used Z06 pedals? Vettenuts probably has a set kicking around for a reasonable price.

Those aluminum pedals can get slippery, especially when your shoes are wet on the bottom. Had that happen a few time too when I had a manual tranny car.
