Hi all, just sold my 04 coupe and now looking at c5z's. Was wondering if this is worth it. 3 owners, car was slightly hit on passenger side fender, cops called blah blah.. Appreciate any advice. New to c5z world.

If going to a Z I think the 04 Z is the best one well it's the last of the C-5 they are build way better that the others witch are nice but the 04 is the best of the lot . These LS-6s will run for ever with a little care oil change etc.. they were build to take it and do .. Some say you can get a C-6 about the same price as a nice C-5 Z not a C-6 Z car . If you want a hot rod the C-5 Z is the way to go no resale hard to get any money out of the things and if moded forget it but if low miles and stock the resale is a little better . I see some moded C-5s going at a good price got to know what to look for some people build them and are afraid to drive them , a Z with 500HP + is a hand full to drive ,my 04 460 RWHP hold on and is a little lighter that a C-6 . A stock C-6 Z or a stock C-7 Stingray see ya no match for my 04 can't hang . If you want cheap HOT ROD the C-5 C way to . I see some nice stock C-5s coming out of the garages lately a few friends have picked up some nice low miles Zs up at a good price have to look hard for them and know what your looking at and if a deal better jump on it other people are looking ,a low mileage C-5 z for $18-$22 very nice ride for the money .. Don't except to shine it up and make money just have to drive it and have fun the resale is not good right now.. That's my take on it .

Again I say to you sir, do you ever read what you type?
Seems like a good car at a great price to me... There is (was) one in the for sale section at that price with no damage I believe..Which is disheartening as I paid a bunch more...

Any way to tell if the valve springs were changed? I hear they are an issue.

Don't over think the valve spring issue. Inspect the car for major mechanicals and care. If the car is sound you can change the valve springs at your leisure if required.
In other words, I would not eliminate a car from the selection process because it had stock valve springs.
I would not necessarily let a higher mileage Z06 turn me away as it would have in the past. They are just as reliable as any other car.
If it is an 04,check into the gas tank crossover fuel leak issue.Of course on a 13 yr old car you would think that sort of problem would have been addressed already, but it's worth checking since it is not cheap.
