Muffler shop

Had a Guy at the muffler shop tell me when you lift a c5 you have to take off the targa open the doors hood and hatch is this true

That was recommended for previous generations. C5 frames are extremely stiff and do not flex like the older ones. It won't hurt it either way.

Agree that it is not necessary on C5+ Vettes. At least it proves the guy was thinking and willing to take the extra precautions.

Had a couple of new back tires mounted at my favorite tire shop, walked off to buy a water and they had the hood open, both doors open and the hatch open....for the same reason. I told them it was not necessary as long as they used jacking pucks properly.

with all the above responses. No need to do all that stuff when lifting the C5. Just use a set of jacking pucks to prevent damage to the rocker panels.
