For this of us who carry a knife, for many reasons, be careful around your car. The other day when moving around my car I brushed against the passenger front fender and knicked the fender. D**n I'm pissed I guess a little Dr Color Chip will help for now. In the end once all mechanicals are complete I may look to have the front end painted.
Good point... I always carry at least one knife. I subscribe to Gibb's rule # 9. Never leave home without a knife.
I usually carry a Swiss Army knife huntsman, and my Zero tolerance 301, which is always clipped to my pocket and in a perfect place to scratch my finish.
My EDC
Thanks for the vision. it has never happened but I can see the possibility.

Funny you came with this thread Bravo 1, I just came back from lunch with my wife and as I was sitting down on the restaurant booth the clip of my pocket knife caught the edge of the sit and stretched open quite a bit.
Had to pull it out of the knife to bend it back again.
I'm also an avid knife carrier. When I'm in the garage working around the car or washing it, I always try to remember to take my knife out of my pocket.
I also tend to cover the pocket clip with my hand when I walk past my car (or other people's cars).
E.T.
I see your Kimber, nice
I carry the same gun but w/o crimson
I love this gun .. I've been licensed to carry since 1977. I'm an NRA life member. I have lots of conceil carry, but this one is very special.
My Kimber has the CDP, combat defense package, with both crimson trace laser and Meprolight night sights.
Its a nice knife... goes nicely with the quality of the Kimber... the way I look at it is, When I am dead, I will be dead for a long time " so If I want something I will get it as long as I am not selfish toward my family in the decision.
Bill, a lot in common, age, location and excellent taste in guns and knives
Bill, Like me, I can see your cocked and locked position on personal carry readiness. Same as mine.
Some people are just plain spoiled. In a good way
Can I relate to you??? You tell me ! LOL
The Only difference is , I am left handed, but practice with my right hand also. Every Sunday ( almost ) just like today.. is my day at the range. to help keep my muscle memory and my edge now that I am 71 and not in the best of health and could easily be perceived as an easy victim. I foiled an attempted car jacking back in the late eighties and a mugging, ( attempted robbery ) back in the late 70's. It's been comforting ever since, knowing that I at least have a chance.
Far from Corvette related so here is some relation.

Hey Bill, I carry (in the car) a survival Tomahawk and a stun gun.
Be prepared.
This thread is about scratching you car with something hanging off your hip, like a gun clip or a knife clip, and now a survival tomahawk.... the thread is evolving !
I would hate to see a thread that says I scratched my car with my num-chucks, or Chinese throwing stars. I would also hate to see a thread that said I scratched my car with a stick.
Or I got blood all over my car because I had a gun, or a knife
