HIDs - Ultimate C5 Fix (saccity)
What is the main headache we face? Weak factory wiring and the need for additional looms and decent grade ballasts.
All that and we can still have slow burn in times on our HIDs. That's so annoying! Especially after the effort and expense.
Here is one great fix I tried from SacCityCorvette. They sell a "Big 3 charging system upgrade" and let me tell you.... It works.
Yes, you can build your own for cheap. Mine was a Christmas gift from my brother in law. (Good guy!)
It basically gives you a fused hard-line from the alternator to the battery and several upgraded grounds. The end effect can be seen on the DIC in the forum of voltage now reading 13.9 instead of 12.1 or 11.8 like mine used to. It is also evident in rapid and clan HID turn on times.
Not bad for a twenty minute install.
Keep it in mind.
