Finally got the thing in after two attempts. The fact I needed to pull fuse 23 was missed...forcing me to put the stock wiring back in, and start over outta fear of locking the column. After some..confusion on when to pull the fuse, got it, no issues. Installed, no warnings, no problems.
Question is the relay. I have it. I pulled the green pin, pushed the tab, the thing was not interested whatsoever in coming out. Like. At all. 15 min i said f*** it and left it in fear of breaking it.
Question I have - is it required to pull it, or optional. It looked optional, but wanted to confirm.
Thanks in advance.

I just did the LCM5 on my car. To get the relay out I pulled the locking pin and then had to depress the locking tab on the side of the connector using a screwdriver and really pull on the relay (and its wires) to get the relay out. It took some patience but I was able to do it. That was the hardest part of the whole install.
Yea - i didn't wanna use that much force. Hence the question on if it's actually required or not. Pulling on wires is never good..i'm fine leaving it there if nothing will malfunction.

TRY again--Richard said its part of the whole gm locking column ****--i used a screwdriver and just pulled hard--it will come apart-
I figured that since it is to be left disconnected I could not hurt anything by pulling on the wires. They gave me the best way to pull it as it is very hard to get a good grip on the relay itself.
I believe it should not hurt anything to leave it connected, at least until the relay malfunctions and causes problems.
Figured when in doubt, call the person who'd know the best. Richard basically said it's future proofing that relay crapping out. Won't hurt to leave it in till i get more time/ambition/patience to try to get it out, however it's advisable to remove it at some point.
