Default Chrome letting

I really like the chrome letting that goes on the back.....my only concern is does it or will it damage the paint....anyone have any problems with the letters

Not chrome but polished stainless is the way to go. Will not harm paint.

The lettering is attached with double sided tape and the steel portion does not contact the paint at all.

I got polished Stainless as well...............piece of cake to install...no damage to paint if you remove ! GO FOR IT !

Or you can just buy the stainless steel set and paint them whatever color you want, and clear over that. That's what I did because I didn't want vinyl letters (they fade).

I put vinyl lettes on the back of my 2001 and they definitely will not harm the paint.

I put vinyl (silver) on mine...August/Sept 2000 time frame.

No issue with fading, and they lasted about 14 years before starting to peel.

Bought another set.
Haven't installed yet b/c the old glue is so good, I can't get all of off.
Goo-gone doesn't faze it, and for obvious reasons, don't want to use any sharp object for scraping..
