I'm a big guy and my drivers side sports seat was killing me, my butt ached after about a half hour of drive time. I didn't want to buy new seats and the leather was still in really good shape so I bought new bottom foam.
I read all the descriptions on how to accomplish my mission. When I got the seat apart (pretty easy) the wire Chevy calls springs had almost cut through the foam; no wonder it was killing me. I ended up using wire ties for the job and cut a piece of industrial carpet square to sit on top of the wire springs rubber side towards the new foam to keep the spring wires from cutting through again.
What a difference this makes. For about $80 with shipping and less than two hours work, you can have some comfort again.

I first tried one of the seat foam kits from a forum vendor and in my case it made very minimal improvement. The outside bolster foam was shot. I just got done replacing the seat bottom foam and got mixed results.
Good: It did make an improvement in the feel of the stock sport seat. Total cost about $90 for the seat foam and $40 I think for the kit.
Bad: The seat still sucks as to support when cornering. I think I would have been better off spending money on a better seat. That's next on the mod list. Just have to decide on which seat to go with.
I bought mine from Corvette Central, very close to me and pretty cheap shipping. Hard to tell exactly about foam from different places. Figuring the old foam is sliced up and brittle, the new foam seems a little softer. I had called another place that advertised firmer than stock, I just couldn't get them to return my calls.
