So I washed the top portions with "Dawn" as recommended.....dang...I swear some little birds poop "perma-bond"......then dried and added some drops of ZFX to a couple ounces of Z-2 and applied as prescribed.
Stuff does go a long ways but ya gotta be very methodical in covering the areas because you can't really see the layer.
Used microfibre cloth to do the final rub and it's slick as heck. Did the whole top from front to rear deck. This pic prolly doesn't really show the difference but I'm pleased with the first coat!!
I have used Zaino on 4 vehicles now and it is IMO the best product I have ever used. It is time consuming but well worth the effort. The depth of shine is unreal. I used it on a Sonic Blue Ford Lightning we had and it was almost 3 dimensional when you looked at it from the right angle.

Thanks!! Looking forward to finishing the sides but really looking forward to the second coat!
That's what I was going to ask. I used (first time) the Dawn, then claybar, then Dawn again, before the first coat. I used Z5 for the first 3 coats, and then 5 coats of Z2. Sounds like a lot of work, but after the first coat it gets way faster, and with ZFX, you can layer them immediately. This was about 13 years ago, and I only redo once a year, just using Z2, and the Z6 finishing. I tried Z8, but didn't like it as well as Z6.
When I first got my car I washed and waxed it with Meguiar's products that I found at Wal-Mart. Wasn't really impressed that much.
Since then, I've been using Chadwick's Triple Play for the initial application and 3 regular applications - but the jury is still out debating on that one (Chadwick's). The color just doesn't pop like I hoped it would and the surface isn't as slippery as I'd like it to be.
I'm gonna lurk here for a while and see more opinions on Zaino.
I Zaino'ed my car 2 weeks ago. I decided to clay bar it again since its been 2 years since the last time I did it. Used Zaino all in one as the base foundation then added a coat of Z5. I rather Z5 than Z2 since my C5 is black.
Last year I had a detail shop remove a lot of overspray that I didn't even know was there.....huge improvement.....but this time I just used my hand to find any material (bird poop) still stuck to the surface.
That picture doesn't really show much......the sun has gone away today so no good pics can be taken. Gee....Oregon....no sun....go figure.

Is your car anniversary red? That's a hard color to make pop, but my buddys' got an AE, and Zaino works great on his car, too.

I'm a Zaino user too. It has great depth to it, look at the cloud reflections on the hood.

I wish she shined just a tad bit more
THAT is Zaino! What an incredible shine and depth. That car looks like a freshly painted car straight out of the booth.

The most important part of Zaino is the prep. It is tedious but really not that bad. It is a great weekend project.
I haven't used it for a few years but when I was using it religiously on our cars, I used the Z-8 detailer and it was so slick you could put a towel on the hood and it would literally slide off the car on its own. And it never attracted dust or dirt.
I was using that stuff on everything - plastic, vinyl decals... it never leaves that white residue that a lot of products do.
1] ''Blue Ford Lightning we had and it was almost 3 dimensional '' , all our cars are three dimensional ....2] i sometimes do a couple coats of zaino but feel after that you're just wasting product , energy , and time . . 3] i feel we get less dust accumulation using z8 rather than z6 [ actually i mix the two and am content with results] .... 4] no one mentioned ''c s'' a product i like a lot . 5] i'd kind of like to try a ''ceramic'' coating , any thoughts ? . . peace
^ I meant the shine was 3 dimensional. Bad wording.
I was filling it up with gas and you could actually see several layers of the gas pump reflected in the paint. You know what I mean if you have used it, lol
