Well, started to get some work in on this old girl. Have a new window regulator on order and should be here by Friday....sure is taking awhile to ship.

I also got a new oil pressure sensor. I've seen the posts on doing the removal and replacement without taking the manifold off. I looked at lack of space available to go that route and thought, "No way."

Removing the manifold was just much easier (especially since it doesn't use traditional gaskets), than fighting with a tight fit back there. Unfortunately I don't have a socket big enough to remove the sensor (LOL).

Anyway it's ready for me when I get the new socket.

It can definitely use new pcv hoses...they are really dry rotted out.

I also noticed a lot of oil in the intake runners of the heads and inside the throttle body. With 199,9xx miles on this engine, I'm sure it needs new valve seals and/or rings.

OK, got the oil pressure sender on, and everything bolted back up. I went ahead and rebuilt the pcv system by replacing all the soft lines, and putting in a new valve.

Got everything reassembled, and it's all good now. The oil pressure shows 60 lbs at idle.

I did notice there's a bit of a lag in the gauge. When giving the engine a rev, the gauge lags 2 or 3 seconds or so before registering a change in pressure. Is this normal for these?

Thanks.

Alright, been busy with some other projects, but I've had some time do the re-solder fix on the HVAC unit, and it's bright as the clock now. That sure was a nice easy fix. Even removing the interior panels to get to it was pretty easy.

I'm hearing a weird sound coming from behind the dash, and I think it's the HVAC actuators. As I've been doing some research on here, that's what the consensus comes back with. I've also noticed that not all speeds on the blower motor seem to give me anything. I guess there's a module or something below the motor itself. I'll have to pull it and check it all out. Any other tips here for this HVAC unit to work correctly?

I received my new passenger side window regulator and will tackle that later this evening...hopefully.

I've been pretty pleased with the ease of disassembly on this car. I will say, as with other Corvettes, the materials are really cheap feeling.

My 91 ZR-1 doesn't have great interior either, but the tactile feel seems a lot better than this '98. I also keep laughing at the "Made In..." labels I'm finding throughout. IPC -- Made in Japan, the plastic panel surrounding the shifter "Made in Germany" Now I can add "Made in China" with this window regulator. LOL.
