Default Minimum parts list to replace windshield

Do any of you all know what is the minimum parts list required to replace a windshield? In particular, I am wondering about the 10333466 weatherstrip (the big strip that goes around the top and both sides of the windshield) that goes for around $500. Does this have to be installed with the windshield, and if so, does the installer usually supply it or try to reuse the original weatherstrip, or can it be installed later?

I ask because my 03 Z06 needs a windshield and I definitely want the installer to do that, but I plan to provide the installer with only the parts absolutely necessary for the install. I intend to do the moldings and possibly the weatherstrip myself after the fact. I had such a bad experience with leaks after the last windshield install that I don't trust the "professionals" to get it right.

Thanks.

I have had my C5 HUD windshield replaced 3 times and they have always reused the original weatherstrip - never had a problem.

Good to know about reusing the weatherstrip; I hadn't ordered it yet precisely because I thought I might get some feedback like this. The moldings are definitely trashed--cracked on both sides--but I've been preparing for that for a long time. $407 today from various eBay sellers for both sides and the strip across the top of the windshield. GM part numbers 10331563, 10331562, and 10427732 in case anybody sees this and doesn't want to bother looking them up.

Your insurance does not cover this?

Insurance does cover, but the deductible is $1000. I got decent prices on the moldings (still WTF expensive for what they are) and I plan to try the DW1430 windshield, so the total should come in well under that.

Hmmmm I have full glass coverage. here in NY the windshield is considered a safety issue. If you have glass coverage there is no deductible. Costs nothing to have windshield replaced.
