A buddy and me are going to address an auto trans leak this weekend. It seemed to intensify after he replaced the AC compressor about 2 months ago. The leak seems to originate from near the front of the engine. It's hard to tell where it is coming from without getting it up in the air which we're going to do on Saturday. Any guidance as we begin our search?

I'm a little confused.
If you have a transmission leak that would be at the rear of the car, as the transmission on a C5 is in the rear along with the rear differential to form the transaxle.
If you performed A/C work and you are leaking fluid that appears to be similar to transmission fluid then you may check the power steering connections and fluid levels.
EDIT: Where are you at in Benton? I'm a little up the road in Little Rock.

Yes, Velocity I live in Benton and work in WLR! Are you involved with the Corvette Club? I was a past member and plan on rejoining. I prepared to go last week but then saw online they moved it to this week and I couldn't make it. So I'll be going in October. Thanks for the reply. I've been checking the power steering levels and they haven't dropped. I'm color blind but my wife says the oil looks reddish brown.
