Sounds like a helicopter??
Just noticed a helicopter type sound coming from the top of the engine while idling in the driveway. Shut it off and started up again - sounded normal. Revved it up a few times - normal. Then it started doing it again.
Not loud enough to hear it in the cabin but I'm concerned. Do I have something going out?

Maybe it just needs to warm up?

No. Had just driven it 70 miles or so.
I have had some issues with coolant leaking out of the coolant cap lately. Might be a stupid question but could it be related somehow? I just got a new coolant cap in the mail today.

So would that explain why when I first start it it doesn't do it? Has to build pressure or something?
Is this any major big deal?

Maybe a Manifold Gasket?
Maybe when it warms up and expands that's when you start hearing the chopper
just guessing here
don't feel its major

Check the air pump check valves to see if the hose blew off of them they go into exhaust manifold one on each side.
The hose could have come apart anywhere if one of the valves went bad and is allowing exhaust to escape.
You can see the driver side valve but the passenger side valve is back by firewall but is connected at manifold in the same spot as the driver side.
Tech would also be a good place to ask this
Just saw you already did and someone beat me to the air system, mine did this and sounded similar

Could try the tissue trick; short piece of tissue with fingers, moved over exhaust manifolds to see when the tissue begins to flap around.
Usually an exhaust leak is worse at cold start-up than warm due to metal expansion closes the gaps, but sure sounds like an exhaust leak...although I have heard a PCV valve do this due to an engine problem.
I would suggest looking into the noise source.
Good luck.

I noticed that your oil filler cap was missing.

Took it off to get the fuel rail cover off.
Thanks to everyone for the insight...
