Default FAST 78mm intake?

Okay, before you guys break out the pitchforks and start throwing rocks at me...

I was considering tracking down a fast 78mm intake to top off my cam only '01 since everything is coming apart (heads are coming off to replace the lifters, etc) and I have heard of guys making 9-10rwhp over stock with them. The method to my madness is 1. I was gonna leave it stock otherwise, and 2. I have a freshly ported Lingenfelter throttle body, and a nitrous outlet 78mm plate kit, and it is my understanding the fast 78 is designed to work with all the factory parts (tb, fuel rails, etc.)

Are there any other modifications needed to install this intake assuming I can find one? Anyone have any idea where I may be able to find one? I'm keeping stock heads, the car has 1 3/4" headers, I'm going to run the streetsweeper HT cam, so I'm basically just looking to squeak out a few extra hp over the cars running a basic cam only setup.

Thanks for any leads/input anyone has to offer.

Other than changing the valley cover bolts I believe you have to change nothing.

Why not go fast 92? You can use your stock TB with that as well.

I bought a used FAST, and found out the hard way.

The 78mm is a 3 bolt design, and 90-up is 4, so, there's no mix/match on a FAST 92.

One more note about early FAST/nitrous... There's a couple of weak spots on the manifold that make it PA unfriendly.

That was my understanding as well. I got excited when he said something but my gut told me they required the LS2 style TB.

Hmm..noted. Even on smaller shots like 100-150? Any remedies for it? Thanks for the info.

I'm not sure. When I went with a SC, I sold my FAST and went back to a stock LS6 intake because of the rumors. Probably over careful after breaking a few parts over the years. I think the sensor locations are the alleged weak areas.
