Default Magnesium wheels

Does anyone know if magnesium wheels can be fixed?
I took my car to get tires and alignment . My car afterwards had a shake. When I took it back to them the next day they said they were bent.

Usually bent wheels need to be replaced. Magnesium is so brittle they usually crack instead of bend.

I don't know the answer to your question but I have a question for you. Did the car have a shake before you changed tires? If no, the tire shop needs to rebalance your tires.

And make sure new tires are not out of round. It happens. If it didn't shake before the new tires.....

Best bet is to just call a wheel repair vendor and inquire whether magnesium wheels can be repaired. I would guess no, but I would not stake my life on that.

Also they were rebalanced at another place and they were the ones that said they were bent. So I took it back and they were like oh yeah there bent but we didn't do it.

Well, if it didn't shake before, it should not shake now. The only difference is the tires so in theory, the tires or balancing is the problem.

Just for the sake of clarification, do you mean the FACTORY magnesium wheels?

Secondly, if the wheels/tires didn't shake BEFORE you had tires mounted, they certainly shouldn't shake afterward!

Not uncommon to get a brand new tire that is out of round. Also I have had tires that cause what is called "Tire pull" where even with the car aligned it will pull to one side due to a defect in the tire.

Yes they are factory magnesium wheels. And yes it did not shack before but it shakes now. When I took it back they all of a sudden said the rims were bent.

Find another tire place. They should have told you your rims were bent when you picked the car up. Easy to tell when the tire is balanced.

I seriously doubt all 4 rims are bent. They sound like a bunch of clowns if all they tell you that your wheels are bent. The car would have had the shake before you took it in.
