I would definitely get a C5 Randy. The prices will also continue to drop as we get closer to winter so patience is the key now.......................keep looking and your car will come along I'm sure.
I seen the price peak from tax season (around March) until about August when kids go back to school. Then new model year cars come out and people trade or sell.
I think between now and February is a fine time for a good price IMO. If you did find a genuine deal, then why wait for another?
Craigslist seller never responded. That seems to happen a lot. I realize that Craigslist is full of scammers and timewasters but it's frustrating when you have money burning a hole in your pocket and people won't return a call, text or email.

There was a black on black vert on my way to work with $9k written on the windshield. I was going to stop and look at year/options on my way home but it was gone. It was also the deciding factor to just suck it up and drop the much needed money into my pit and keep it since I couldn't get a whole lot for it anyway.
<edit> Winter is the time to buy a Vette (or a motorcycle, or a boat). Summer is the time to sell all of those things. I watched the prices drop an average of $3k from August to November when I started looking until I bought mine.
If you really have the "fever" then channel some of that energy into doing some research into knowing what you really want. The more you learn about these in advance the more you will thank yourself in the future. You can learn a lot by reading the tech threads.
The good news is that you have plenty of time to make a decision.
