So I got a double din bezel and a double din head unit for my car (ken wood ddx9703) and then everything is ok until I turn on the radio and the audio is terrible. There is virtually no bass whatsoever and the audio quality is really poor. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get the stock sound back from my Bose speakers?
Kenwood radios have a multitude of audio adjustments. I had the same problem with mine. You've got to spend some time figuring all of that stuff out. It takes time but you can get it better. Make sure you find the setting save button. I disconnected my battery and had to do it all over. Ultimately I think even inexpensive speaker replacement is in the cards for me. The Bose speakers just aren't that good.
If your budget allows I would definitely look at aftermarket speakers.
Definitely contact Dennis at DD Mods, a great forum vendor and always willing to assist folks with their audio issues.
He will be able to give you a number of options, and tailored to your budget.
You invested in a quality head unit, now complete the job. I installed a 8 inch mid, mid/bass speaker and a 3 1/2 tweeter in each door using the factory bose mounts. A 6 1/2 co axial in each quarter and an amplified 10 inch sub in a ported and baffled enclosure in the center storage well. You can use the factory speaker wiring, but have to add new sub wiring.
The sound is awesome!
Did u use the pac roem vet1 wiring adapter for the install? If so u may have to adjust the potentiometers to get the sound just right.
There's no reason for it to sound worse than OEM. This is an upgrade, not a downgrade
Before tinkering with the new headunit's adjustments, first make sure the PAC adapter (if you used one) is adjusted right: if the source is not good, what you get at the end of the chain is not going to be good either.
