Default traction I have none...

so been getting my car dialed in and i'm pleased with the power increase but my tires aren't

I have some old nitto DR's and 1st gear is just about useless 2nd gear is good as long as i'm not spraying when i do 40/50mph i just lay stripes

car is making 471rwhp 414rwtq N/A and 600rwhp 600rwtq on funny gas

my nitto's are 17's running them around 20psi, havent had a chance to get to the track to see how my M/T et's work hope to soon but what are you guys using on the street to tame 600 wheel HP?

i have extra set of z06 rims so i can use the 17's or 18's

are they 555r's?... those aren't that great in my experience, I have had good luck with nt05r's and currently have st street s/s on the car and those work great as well... I don't like switching my tires out since it is mainly street driven so I want a tire that does good on the street but is still safe to drive on the street... r888's are also good but are usually more expensive and in my opinion they aren't as good as nt05r's or mickey thompsons when it comes to straight line traction with high hp

I just broke down and ordered some new forgestar wheels and after much delima decided on the R888, for me I feel like they will fit the bill, trying to pick out new tires nowadays is a chore, there are several really good choices.

yeah there old 555's that need to be retired, I tried reading up on what would be good but the only thing it did was confuse me

one post said X brand is good and the next said it was bad

neutron82, you using 305/35-18? what sizes have clearance problems?

305/35/19... I ran nt05r's and when those wore out I tried out the et street s/s... the nt05r has the edge in handling and the s/s has the edge in traction but both are good tires... the s/s does surprisingly well on my car, I do have c6z gearing on 1-4 so that might also help

I have the Mickey Thompson ET S/S on my 03 Z. I only make 437/417 but I love the tires. They hook GREAT and drive and hook GREAT on the street too. I will be purchasing them again when needed. They made my car worth driving hard on the street instead of just being a wheel spin fest. And they are on the original Z06 wheels 305/35/18 size I believe the aspect ratio is a 35.

right now i can launch my car off idle and take off with out spinning but soon as it gets in the power band i start to loose traction in 1st with out nitrous, i know my nitto's are tired and there part of my problem that why i'm looking to replace them but so many tires and feedback is all over the place

I have about the same numbers as your N/A specs...
...and am pretty happy with my Bridgestone Potenza RE11 setup.

I don't romp on my car often, but I'm happy with how they hook up. You may need to drop pressures a bit as well.
