Tie Rod Issue
I had the local Chevy dealer replace the LF outer tie rod today followed by a wheel alignment. As I was leaving the dealership I noticed a clicking sound coming from behind the seat. I took it back and we put it up on the hoist to check it out. The clicking was coming from the LR inner tie rod. The mechanic explained that he just turned the nut slightly during the alignment process. We figured that we would replace the tie rod to eliminate the noise and have it re-aligned which would be done at no charge. I ordered the part and made an appointment for tomorrow. However, during the drive home (15-20 miles) I didn't hear a single noise. These are 15 year old sealed units and I'm wondering if what happened is that it re-seated itself as it appears to be fine and the tie rod checked out fine during the initial inspection prior to the work being done.
Any insight would be appreciated from those that have a better understanding of this than me. Thanks for your help!

When I purchased my 04 in Dec 2011 from the original owner it had 51k on the clock. Long story short, I replaced every ball joint and tie rod end because half of them were worn beyond belief.
My point is...........after 15 yrs those parts will wear....Better to be safe then sorry.
