troubling to see you're incapable of assimilating any other reasoning aside from what you believe to be right. Your the one who told him he should consider buying the car
Id rather buy a low mile rebuild then a vette with a 100k or more for the same money any day. I bought my first vette a 92 with 22000 miles on it in 95 and it had a rebuilt title for at least a 1/3 less then they were going for. Its still running around town today with a 100k on it. I also bought a wrangler with a rebuilt title about 10 years ago and my granddaughter is still driving that one with a 110k on it. I sold the vette 5 years after I bought it for the same price I paid and had absolutely no problem with it and they guy that bought it said it was the best car he every bought. No problem buying them either. the bank didn't care, the insurance company didn't care and the license bureau didn't care. Bottom line is if your going to buy a different car every couple years or trade at a dealership there not for you. but if you buy for the long haul you can save ALOT of money. Ive looked at quite a few rebuild title cars and a quick once over will show anyone that has any mechanical ability whether it was fixed right or band aids were put on to get rid of it. If your really conserned for less then a 100 bucks a body shop or frame shop will look it over and tell you if its something to avoid.
I told him to make an informed decision. I never told him to buy the car. Read my post where I said that I didn't want to buy a rebuilt corvette. Clearly I see merit in a clean title car, but at that time money was no issue so I wanted the absolute best I could buy.
your wife must really hate herself if you always act like this.
I've seen this car on craigslist before and it seems to be pretty clean. Owner is asking $14.5 for it and states he has pictures of damage before it was repaired plus receipts of what was replaced. With that kind of documentation I wouldn't scare away from it if you can look over the documents he has. I would also use the fact that it has a R title to try and get it down to 13.5, and I think that would be a pretty good deal! Just my .02 cents

and there we are with the price. you have an 84k mile car with an R title, let's just say you can get it to 13.5
how good of deal is that really? when were the shocks replaced? hoses? water pump? tires? pulleys ? how about engine and trans condition? is it an oil burner? cyl leakdown?
it's a personal choice but for just a little more money you get a car with no accident history, 3 owner including me, mechanically excellent, all the age items have been done and it's an 02 vs an 01
this is why so many people harp on salvage titles not being worth considering. 13.5 is too high when you look at what can be bought
Yours seems to be fairly priced as well! But I was stating that at 13.5 it's def a fair price. When I was in the market for my z, people in my area were asking 18-19k for a higher mileage vehicle with hardly any parts listed as being replaced.
My point was this, with documentation that this car had really minor damage, I would prefer it over another z with the same mileage for 4-5k more. And who's to say this car didn't have lots of maintenance history? Also said in the add that it has 5k+ in upgrades. Just saying, my opinion, it's a decent car at a fair price!

compared to a car like mine selling for say...19 or 20 i would agree it's a fair price but that would be really high. also agree on not knowing what's been replaced etc
it's just if a buyer is looking at that car or mine..i can't really see many people not spending the extra couple grand for that no accident history car with great records and in excellent condition.
you look at this thread....lots of people saying they won't touch R titles. that's what you would have to deal with when selling again. i mean i've bought and sold R title cars and have never been burned but i make damn sure i know my market and my price points if i touch one.
Yeah, I agree with you about having a harder time trying to sell a R title car. And 99% of the time I honestly wouldn't buy one with a R title, UNLESS there is full documentation on what happened and what was repaired. And I would NEVER touch a flood car.
Yours is a nice car, and I don't see you having any issues selling it!
