My coolant tank needs replacing (cracked nipple causing minor leak) so I figure I might want to replace the hoses too. Any particular brand I should look at? Any other hoses to consider replacing while I'm at it?
I went with OEM AC Delco hoses. I also bypassed the throttle body cooling hoses while I was at it.
If I had to do it again I probably go with a silicone hose set although they cost a lot more.
When I was still working I managed a large fleet of mining equipment. We converted all our smaller vehicles to silicone hoses and had great success with them.
Is there particular brand or distributor of silicone hoses I should look at? Looks like $200-$300 for a hose kit. Are the Gates brand hoses non-silicone and thus much less expensive?
