I don't mind them too much. I may stick with them for awhile. I was having flashbacks of having pop-up gear problems with my '90 Firebird, although I suppose the C5 doesn't have too many problems with the headlight gears.
Actually, the gears WILL go bad. And ALWAYS at the worst possible time. Once you replace the plastic crap with metal gears - problem resolved.
Com'on Gramps get with the program and get one for yourself
akapounder has it right gramps, jump into the deep end of the pool and get in on the fun! This is about the time when vette prices are starting to come down. You still have some time for fall cruising and will be ready for next years spring and summer cruising. But that being said, be fussy, demanding and get the cleanest, best maintained and documented C5 you can afford. Good luck and take care!

Thanks!
I think I'm already starting to feel the obsession. There is already so much I want to do to it.
I moved from a 92 C4 to a 98 C5 myself just recently. I'll be interested to hear your comments about the switch.
Honestly I liked the looks of my C4 better (don't hurt me), but it was an automatic. I had to have a 6 speed when I got back into a Vette. The performance difference makes the transition a lot easier too haha.
