When I had the oil changed this summer 10w30 was used. I live in Ohio where the winter temps can reach 0 and below.. I am wondering if I need to change the oil to 5w30 before storage even if I am not starting the car until spring?
Thanks!

10W-30 is noted as being OK in the manual so long as it's above 0°F, so you're good to go if not running it. You're changing it right away in spring? And why 10W-30 anyway (instead of recommended 5W-30), just curious?

I did not change it myself and the place I took it put 10w30 instead 5w30 citing it is "better" for summer. After reading it was ok to use in the manual I was ok with it.. My concern now is just that even if it gets to 0 this winter as long as the car is not started it will be fine?

I see a set of ramps in my future so I can just change my own oil! and yes moving forward I will only use 5w30.

Not a concern IMO, it's just sitting in the pan.
