Default Exhaust issue.....

Just bought a 01' Z06, red with 5,500 miles. Got a great deal and am looking for improved performance.

I am taking it it LPE in the dead of winter to get their supercharger put on. My question is..... what kind of exhaust modification should I make to get the supercharger to run optimally. Should I do Headers or headers AND cat-back.....

I'm looking at the Corsa Pace car cat-back # 14111 for $ 829. Do you think it's sufficient? How about the Borla cat-back? Thanks in advance.

Congratulations on your recent purchase.

Catback systems will not necessarily give you any more performance over your stock Ti system. They are great sounding but don't look for alot of power to come from them. If you like the sound of the Corsa's go for it. If you are happy with the sound of your stock system I'd keep it. What I do recommend is a set of long tube headers to compliment the SC install. I recommend the FLP's because there is no cutting or welding. Basically your entire exhaust system is replaced with a ceramic coated system which includes and x-pipe, high flow cats, AND off road pipes that can sub for the cats for racing purposes. The FLP's will indeed wake up the sound of the stock Ti system. One more advantage to the FLP system is that you can keep all your stock exhaust (manifolds and intermediate pipe that contains the cats) and put it back on if/when you decide to trade in or sell the car.Give us a call if you would like more details on the FLP system or you can visit our website :)

Nice system. Right now, I'm weighing my options as far as what I need to do to get the SC performing well once I put it on.

Double check with LPE, but I thought that some exhaust work happened with the package. Also ask them if they think you will get gains worth doing it. I met Mr. Lingenfelter this weekend and I'm sure that he or someone who works for him would gladly give their honest opinion about this..

Just my $.02

Just talked to LPE, they said a cat back is all it needs as there is where the bottleneck is. They gave me a GREAT price on a corsa!!!!
