[Z06] Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings with a C6 or C7 here......

I own a C5 vert and a C6Z. I really struggled several years ago when I bought the C5 because I originally wanted a C5Z but since they didn't make them in a vert or targa top, I had to decide what I wanted most. I wanted the vert more, but I gotta say that even now, I don't really like the hatchback style on any vette, and side by side, the C5Z against my C6Z makes my mouth water for the C5Z every time. I just didn't want to own 2 C5's. Don't get me wrong, the wide body C6Z is a beast but I could have modded the C5Z to be as good and have the body style I prefer. I guess my ideal situation is to have a C7 vert and a C5Z, but that's a lot of selling and re-buying!

I bought a new C5Z back in 2002 and kept it all stock up until I sold it May of last year. I upgraded to a Stage 2 C7Z and IMO the newer car has a more exciting and striking look.

Well, this thread wasn't about cost and interior room. My C7Z doesn't run any hotter than my C5Z did and my post wasn't critical of the C5Z. I enjoyed the car for 14 years.

I just picked up my '17 Z06. I still have a C5 Z06. After letting the C7 grow on me for a while, I think the C7 Z06 in the right color looks better than the C5. It feels a lot more solid driving, the build quality is a huge improvement over the C5. The gadgets are just too much IMHO in the C7.

Love my '99 nassau blue frc/z06! Just something about it. I tossed around the idea of selling it one time and was offered good money, but I just couldn't do it.

Its best we dont mention those years... Funny thing is I almost bought an early 80's Vette as my first sports car. Luckily my dad stepped in and told me to put more money down and get a real sports car thank God.

I love the critics of the C7, they make me laugh for so many reasons.

I've been toying with the idea of selling mine as well, kinda craving a black C7 Z07, but in the end, I don't know if I'll be able to do it. It really is a pretty car, it can lap 30min and barely move the temp needles and power-to-weight is something the new ones can't touch. As others have said, GM got it right in 2001 when they released it.
Beautiful car ! !

Haha, the GT-R is literally my all-weather daily here in CT, and while I'm sure I'd get around in a C7 (BRZ was my last daily), I like having an AWD monster on snow tires to fly past SUV's in during blizzards.
I also like owning cars that are all very different than one-another. If I get a 3rd car, something like a Cayman GT4 or F355 6spd would round out the stable nicely.

I guess if I was forced to I could be convinced to part with my 600hp+ C5 Z16 as a straight across trade for a 2017 Z. And though I think the C7 looks better I'd probably miss the simple ness of the C5 and darn sure would not drive the C7 with reckless abandon the way I do the C5.
