Like several others I have had a few electronic gremlins. Last weekend I had the ground points cleaned up. That helped a lot but didn't fix everything. My next plan was to replace the ignition switch to see if that helps. This morning as I was leaving for work I got a random ABS/TCS dash light without setting a TCS warning on the DIC. It's a communication error that I've been getting that turns off the HVAC as well.
For some stupid reason I decided to try jiggling the ignition key to see if that did anything. However, I accidently turned the car off. I immediately tried turning the key back on, but it wouldn't re-fire. I stopped and put it in park but couldn't get it to restart.
I am getting the following codes
P0601
P1518
C1241
C1276
The 1518 is persistent and will not clear. The 1241 will also not clear, but that has been persistently there since I bought the car a year ago.
I was told that my transmission is on it last legs, but I never go past 1/4 throttle and haven't had any problems. I was planning a rebuild in about 15K miles. Did I just give it something it couldn't deal with and kill it ? Is it possible that disconnecting the battery for a hard reset will get me going again? To do the reset, is it the Negative cable I disconnect?
Any ideas appreciated.

I mention this from time to time and I am certainly not even a faint shadow of some forum members who really are C5 wizards. But I'll relay the following anyway. Had some codes pop up, all electrical type stuff, over and over again. Had a just about brand new battery in it so didn't look there at first. Finally replaced that battery (wish I'd checked that early on). Problem solved, no codes, all issues resolved. C5's are very voltage sensitive and a low voltage condition, bad/defective battery, kicks off all kinds of funky stuff in these cars. Anyway, just though I'd pass it along. Good luck and best wishes!

A good battery at 100% charge and clean tight terminals is always the first place to start.

Well, I just went through the P0601 and P1518 errors for about 6 weeks. Car was deader n a doornail, not a fun process. From beginning to end I suspected there was nothing wrong with the PCM or Tac module and fact is, the TAC is back in the car and the PCM is sitting waiting to go back in.
Nope, I never figured out wtf caused those two errors. Possibly was the ground at the back of the driver side head. I had just done an engine replacement and that ground had not been tightened up. But, after tightening it the P0601 remained, I ended up buying a new PCM. Pretty sure that was not the issue, but wow, what a nightmare it's been. Hate to bring news like that, but I guess the upside is, don't give up on the PCM nor the TAC cause they're probably not the issue.
