In my search for a C5, I have noticed the front of these vehicles takes a beating paint wise (like all vehicles do). Have any of you ever had just the front of yours repainted, and if so, does the color match the rest of the car, and was it expensive?
I have not on my 03Z (56K) but it should be a easy spray. Pull the bumper cover off and match the GM paint code. If there is no damage to repair just paint I could see 300-500 dollars. Most colors should be easy to match in most cases.
About a month ago I had the front of mine repaired (hit a raccoon); new front valence and (obviously) new paint. I think the work was very well done and matches very well, at least as good as factory (this shop does also does full restorations and they are quite experienced and meticulous). Which brings up another point, it has been my observation on most cars the front and rear valences do not always perfectly match the body (and not just Corvettes). This appears to be especially true of the metallic colors. I previously had a pewter metallic (Corvette) and now a spiral gray metallic and on neither has the front and rear valence colors (or more accurately the metallic look) matched (perfectly) with the body.

I had a small (less than 1") split in my front fascia repaired and then the fascia re-sprayed. Total cost was right at $500 which included the shop removing and replacing the fascia. The paint match was spot on.
The quote for my nose repaint is about $1400 but that includes the new nose and some fitting. The paint alone was $800 for Quicksilver metalic.
When an RV scraped my door, it was about $1000 to shoot the door and part of the fender to blend. Looks great, the nose is next (jackass backed over it).
My Millennium yellow Z06 had the nose repainted at some point early in its life and the paint match is perfect. The only problem I have with it is the orange peel isn't exactly the same. I'll also confess I'm the only person who notices it, even after I've pointed it out to others they just look at me strange.
MY '04 vert.... got it back last week. Front had little pock (sp?) marks from gravel. Bumper off, refinished, painted and clear coated.looks perfect, took before and after pictures to make sure. $1100 Canadian
This may also be a good thread to ask this question too. Is there any type of a thick clear coat type of product that can be sprayed on the front to protect the pigment and guard against rock chips? I know there is an adhesive backed film that can be stuck in place (I think 3M makes it), but I used that on one of my vehicles and I didn't like it. It doesn't go around compound curves well (it will actually wrinkle), and after a few years it cracks. Just curious.
This is a familiar thread..I recently tapped my car and I'm having my bumper painted and light cover adjusted as we speak, she's in the neighborhood body shop.
Hard to tell but it's a Pewter car.. actually the damage is not too bad, just paint and luckily it just stop short of the fender, truthfully if my car was a beater I would have probably just touched it up..but I just bought my car and i'll be making payments for awhile so for now I want to keep it as cherry as I can, so I'll pay my deductible dues..
no idea what they'll charge, find out in a couple days..
There actually is a sprayable product that protects just the same as clear bra. I haven't used it but I've seen it advertised. I believe it is made by 3M. It is removable, too.
I repainted the front bumper cover on my 2001. I used Sherwin Williams paint. I went with their best base coat and it matched the speedway white original paint as well as could be expected.
The paint and material to do the job was right at 250.00. The labor was my time so no cost.
If you don't mind me asking, how much was it to get it resprayed?
$275.00 and I removed the bumper, dropped it off at the painters, then picked it back up and reinstalled myself. Not sure how much I saved by doing the r&r and I am not sure I could get it done for the same price today as it has been about 4 years ago. Painter is a friend and may have cut me some slack.

I'd be interested in finding out more about this product...
Had the headlight covers and hood repainted for some little cosmetic things. Black. Painter said black is not the easiest to match as might think since a lot of blue goes into the different blacks.
He did a great job for $1000 (and yes now the orange peel does not match !!)
