I have been thinking long and hard about selling my 98 C5. The problem is I don't know where to begin for a listed price. I know mods typically don't add value to a car, but I would also try to avoid taking a complete loss on the work which has been done.
Now some info about the car, it is a 98 targa top, red with just a hair over 30k miles. It has a built A4 transmission, built bottom end cat less LG Street LTs, Borla cat back, LS6 cam, 6.0l heads VIS carbon fiber cowl hood and a Kenne Bell 2.8l blower. I think that about covers it as far as big ticket items go. No dyno numbers yet, it is currently at the shop waiting on a 2 bar and then it should be tuned.
Any estimates on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

I would list it for $18-18.5K and see what kind of response you get. Sounds like a nice car with some very good (and desirable) mods. If you do decide to sell it, be sure to post up plenty of pics and hopefully you have documentation on the mods and maintenance - buyers look for that kind of stuff.
modded cars are a crapshoot and often take longer to sell than stock cars. add up how much your parts are actually worth via ebay auction if you removed them. make your ad detailing this.
selling a modded car is all about showing the value in the car and what all someone is buying. also go over the condition of everything pointing out flaws
no advice on value since i don't know what your parts are worth
The low mileage is a big plus, but the bigger plus is the Forced Induction WITH a (hopefully) properly built motor. I think you'd have no problem getting upper teens for it. I'd probably start at $20K and work down from there. You might get a bite that high even since all the big upgrades are done except the rear essentially. Highly modded cars (like with forced induction) are definitely more niche and it's one of those rare instances where the mods usually increase the value, because of the niche buyer. FINDING that niche buyer, is another thing.
Want a laugh? Look at some of the cars for sale on that social media site (they have a big C5 Parts for sale group that includes cars). Guys asking $30K for a hack job turbo car with a stock motor. It's ridiculous.
Thanks gentlemen, I appreciate the advice. I still have a little bit more to get it where I want it and then who knows, maybe I will decide to keep it. I can't ever tell with this car.
