i have posted on this site before as I am looking to purchase my first corvette. I have the opportunity to purchase a 99 FRC with 132K miles. New clutch , new slave . No codes and everything works except traction control.
Current owner says he will fix that. I can get this car at a amazing price in my book from what I am seeing Below 10K .
any concerns from current owners out there ? Should I stay away from this year . Any advice greatly appreciated
please advise

Take the time to learn about the C5, what to watch out for and you'll have a better chance of getting one that will make you smile each time you get behind the wheel. Good luck.
99's are great cars based on my six year ownership. Condition, condition, condition don't let the low price pull you too far. That new clutch if done correctly is worth a minimum$1k+ . Lots of cars out there to consider though.
In my humble opinion, great maintenance trumps mileage in most cases. As already advised above by other members, read the available material for new or aspiring C5 owners. Does the vette come with service records? How about accident history, if any? Get a thorough end to end check by a knowledgeable shop. C5 repairs can get pretty pricey very quickly so make sure you do your homework. Regarding '99s, I have a '99 6m vert, and its been a very nice buy. Only issue I've had was a leak from the drivers side fuel tank. Other than that, runs and drives as new and could not be happier with it. Good luck and best wishes!
The traction control issue could be a bigger problem. If he fixes it great. The EBCM controls the ABS and Traction control. If that is bad, it is out of production and not repairable and finding used ones can be over $1k with no warranty they will last either. The car will still drive fine, but those two systems will not work. In some states that have a safety inspection that could be a problem.
If the car is in good shape, the new clutch is a big benefit and it sounds like it is priced well. If you get it you will probably love it like I did mine.
If the traction control does not work, then there are definitely codes. I would check them out and post them up here before you do anything, as people have said it could be a much bigger issue underlying.
