So tonight turned really badly I was about to go shopping with my mom...of course today was rainy when all a sudden I heard this horrible sound I had managed to get a 3 by 5 chuck of metal stuck under my 98 vette in the plate under the passenger side... what is that plate called so I can replace it? When I was heading back home to attempt to pull it out I went over some tracks and it came off so I'm sure some other poor person is going to run it over but I'm mad bc I have a long cut under my car
I ran over a deer once and the antlers put a rip in the bottom of my floor. Crazy huh?! I just used some bondo to fix it. It's basically foam between two sheets of balsa wood. (or something like that) Just get some kind of filler to fix it. No biggie.
I finally got the A/C compressor fixed but now I gotta replace the blend door; I need to look on here on how to do that I would like to get that done over my Thanksgiving break; just got two new front tires; only thing I need to get fixed is the computer and now that panel under the car...
There was a rather good-sized puncture (about halfway through) in one of mine where it looked like a previous owner had chosen a bad spot to put a jack. Had a guy who had done some restoration work to a coworkers '64 repair it. He charged me under $200.
Edit - give yourself more credit - that wasn't a dumb question!

That's really not bad I just want it fixed because I'm crazy OCD about my cars being perfect.....
You don't want to deal with replacing that part, it's bonded to the floor bracing and a bitch to get out. Repair it. It's nothing more then fiberglass, any decent body shop can repair that and make it smooth again.
The floor is actually two thin sheets of metal with balsa wood laminated between them. I don't know that the part of the floor you see is replaceable. I'm sure it can be cosmetically repaired, it won't affect the function of the car. I've dented mine in one spot up front, I've just left it alone. Lower your car so you won't be able to see it.
