Default 1998 C5 air dam

Does anyone know where I can get the factory original front air dam? The after market one I put on had to be trimmed all the way up to the metal bar. That metal bar is also a problem because it bends back and does not return to position like the non metal one from the factory. And yes it is installed correctly and the car is the same height as from the factory. Don't mind trimming but, if I touch something I have to crawl under the car and pull it back forward.

Any of the new parts vendors should be able to get you one, you can try one of the used parts vendors or you can post a Wanted to Buy (WTB) thread in the C5 Parts for Sale section asking if anyone has one for sale.

I have the same problem (intercooler). Sounds like you have the same center section (4 bolts showing) that I have butchered. What does everyone do when they have an intercooler?

I just used a piece of rubber around 4" tall and sheetmetal screwed it into the square tubing between the side pieces.it hangs down about the same distance as the side dams.
itll just bend fwd/rwd when needed.

I didn't think about doing that. That's just what I'm going to do. I don't know if the ECS intercooler is lower than others. I know they say it is the largest. I just might do the rubber piece all the way across, in 3 sections. Thanks for the idea.
