wheel size change's advice
Hi all current wheels on my car are C6 Grand sport wheels
Fronts: 275 / 35 18's
Rears : 285 / 35 19's
I have a chance to buy a set the same very cheap, with wider rears... they are cheap as front two are damaged, one minor cosmetic, one a bit more work... So I thought I could do a combined set up..
My rears on the front, so :
Front 285 35 19's fronts,
then new rears which are Rear 325 30 19's
1. will my rears on front catch do you think?
2. any issue having 19's all round..?
I notice it tend to be one inch bigger on rears for C5's
3. ultimately what will going from 285 to 325 on rear do? will it aid traction?
cheers

Going with the rear tire to the front you have to look at the offsets difference on the rims. I am not familiar with the 19" offset but that would be my first concern. The other concern is the front tires will be almost 27" tall and the rears slightly over 26.5". This will cause havoc on your ABS/TC/AH.

Sounds like you're running replica wheels so not sure how the offset will affect putting them in front. That being said, rule of thumb is to have 1/4 to 1/2 inch difference between front and rear in order to not freak out the TC.

Thanks guys, much appreciated ...
I guess could always change tyre set up for profiling heights..if I get them cheap enough,
also maybe just change the rears only and keep the fronts as is with 18s..
Didn't realise it had an effect on TC....
Do you think there is a benefit ( street use , albeit it open her up now and again! )

What would really improve the handling for your set up (18/19 wheels) would be to put an aggressive 200 UTOG tires on it. The best would be Bridgestone RE71R tires 275/35x18 fronts and 305/30x19 rears. Great traction and outstanding handling. On 18" C5 wheels I am turning lap times within 1 second of what I ran with Hoosier A6's a few years ago. The draw back for the tires is when cornering you hardly hear any screeching from the tires

Better tires is an option to get the most out of your car, but if you're only concern is looks, 325 with flares is nice too
