Default passenger window

I need help with a window issue. All of a sudden my passenger window appears to be binding when opening or closing window. Sometimes it just stops and later you can press the button and it works OK.

Sounds like something is caught down in the door. I finally got it closed but had to try several times opening and closing it until it finally closed fully.
Hopefully someone out there can help me out

in an effort to diagnose the problem the window will no longer move and is in the 2/3 closed position.
Since both switches worked the window I am assuming it is not the motor or the controls and must be the regulator.
Has anyone changed out a door regulator that can give me some pointers. Hopefully it is not difficult

Sounds like you may have a cable that came off a pulley. I've seen it happen a few times. Easy enough to change just a little time.

Here's a couple videos that may help you.

I had the same problem on the drivers side. Would sound rough going down. It got to the point that I had to push it to get it down all the way and try to pull it up (while pressing the buttons).

The motor on the regulator was fine. It was some plastic cable guides that had broken due to age. I replaced the regulator assembly and the problem was solved.

FWIW...changing the regulator was the easy part. Getting the window aligned afterwards was a pain. I got it better but it's still not perfect...I get some wind noise at highway speeds but it's not totally unbearable.

You might need a different electrical connector than what is sold by AC Delco with the replacement regulator. But they are sold at any dealership. Easy to splice in. As others note, use tape or grease marker to indicate where window is before removing so you can line it up back to the original spot. Take your time and teh videos show how to do it.
