I'm thinking about getting something like this on my C5. My impulse is to say absolutely nothing with just a bunch of X's and one V, and in so doing, use the license plate merely as a graphic display of...nothing more than yellow lines on a black canvas.
It it turns out I was not the only one doing this. Virtually every combination of letters using mostly X's were already taken.
Eh.. I've seen this before. IMO, it screams wise guy because you can't read it. If you like, go for it. I'd probably just do a decent vanity plate. Why spend $$ for some X's..
Yeah sorry; I don't understand why people do this either.
I've seen tons of people with combinations of "OO00O00" or "BB88B88" or similar on cars and I don't know if they think they're trying to be a wise guy or clever or something else. You're still going to get a ticket sent to your house when you pop a red light camera or a carded toll so why bother? Plus my vision is fairly terrible and I can still see the differences in similar characters; not hard to make them out. There won't be 20 people driving Corvettes with combinations of Xs.
If you're ponying up the extra for custom vanity and to maintain it get something that's actually worth purchasing.

My sentiments exactly.
Especially if you own a business.
Let your plate do some free advertising for you.
I have rented a couple of units to people who saw my plate, and asked if I had any rentals available.
Bob.
I like vanity plates, they personalize your ride. I have Oklahoma Patriot flag tags on my truck and C5. My C6 Z06 says Z STING, mainly because Oklahoma thought BAD AZZ was offensive, so I had to go for the cute look instead...lol.
p.s...OK would think a bunch of XXX's meant **** I'm sure, and it wouldn't fly here, bible belt, you know, they are so picky.
I will admit there was a Mustang that has the plate" SUDO MV" (sudo is the Unix command for Super User Do, mv is the command for move, so basically since I am the superior user, you should get out of my way), I would honestly pay a lot of money for that on my Corvette. But I know the humor would be lost on the general public.
I had one on a beater truck for a while that was Z7Z77ZZ or something like that.
I told people it was the vehicle I used for robbing banks.
Meh, novelty wore off.
Its not something I would want but different strokes for different folks and all that. Thats what a large part of the car hobby is all about, being different and making it your own. If everyone liked the same doodads and all it sure would be boring. Everyone have a good one!
My plate should be here soon. It's not a matter of money, if I want to entertain friends, I do that. What it is, is just for fun. My road name in the MC club I belong to is "Otter". That was taken, so I opted for CAVORTN, 'cause otters like to cavort. I just tell people I misspelled Corvett'n. If you're not familiar with the term, Google it.
