This is the graphics kit once offered - by GM I believe - to replicate the "generic" pace cars used when the C5 was still new. These pace cars were used at like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Daytona, Indy Racing League, etc. Official GM pace cars were often yellow, red, and/or blue.
If you Google "C5 Pace Car" you'll see some examples of the actual various pace cars used in various series with this paint scheme in different colors.
Looks to me like a copy of a pace car. The car looks like a FRC and there is much more white paint. In addition, the decal should continue onto the nose and not end on the hood alone..
I love it. Life's too short to be so serious about some things, so I say make it your own and have fun with it and drive the wheels off of it...but then again, I like black wheels so I'm beyond help anyway.

I agree. That is not the original pace car paint scheme, rather a knock-off of that paint scheme. I've seen an actual replica at a show before and I have a couple 1:18th scale diecasts both blue and yellow for the Rolex and LeMans races and they are different.
I also think based on the panels, this car has taken a punch or two.
